Krishna Devi Girls’ Degree College offers NCC to students under the name of 20 U.P. Girls Battalion, Lucknow. The authorised seats for Senior Wing are 55. NCC has been active in college for more than 15 years.

The Purpose of NCC is to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces. With the motto of 'Unity and Discipline' our cadets are trained to develop following qualities among the youth of the country.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME

The National service scheme is an Indian government sector public service programme conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji's centenary year in 1969. It aimed at developing students' personality through community service. NSS is a voluntary association of young people in colleges, universities and at +2 level working for a campus- community (especially villages) linkage.

The Scheme has been active in college for more than 35 years. Presently there are two units of NSS under 2 programme officers. In each unit 100 volunteers are enrolledevery year and total 200 volunteers of NSS in the college. These volunteers participate in one day and seven days camps during their 2 years tenure. They actively engaged in activity related to social welfare, creating awareness, literacy and many other issues. The two units of NSS in our college provide students a platform for personality development by inculcating in them leadership, tolerance, cooperation, service, Self-Reliance and work for the welfare of society.

To encourage research with innovative ideas and scientific temperament and develop opportunities for the young energetic minds to engage in quality research as per the guidelines of National Education Policy 2020.

OBJECTIVE

The objective of the Research and Development Cell is to inculcate research and innovative skills among faculty and students. It will provide a platform for creativity and innovation to flourish young minds in the institute.

It aims to nurture research culture in the college by promoting research in newly emerging and challenging areas of Humanities and multi-disciplinary fields. It enables an amiable atmosphere for intellectual development and monitors the research activities of the college.

Through Research activities, the cell aims to achieve core values and create competent researchers with the meticulous efforts of teachers to enhance research productivity. The purpose is to conduct research work and survey on various problems prevalent in society and to get the solutions and suggestion so that the detail study report can be sent to the concerned department.

The college provides facilities for both Indoor and Outdoor Games and Sports. The Sports Club of the college organises various sports Intramural competitions and facilitate students to participate in Extramural competitions. One student of the college has represented in Deafolympics and many students have represented at Inter-university and National Level.

The English Literary Club of the college conducts literary activities in the campus throughout the year. These activities include Speech, Essay Writing, Debate, Extempore, Elocution etc. This club encourages students to become orators and display their intellectual, independent thinking skills and imbibe a sense of confidence. The purpose of the club is to inculcate a flair for the English Language among students and enhance their literary skills.

The Road Safety Club of our college was started in the year 2022. Since its inception, the club has held a variety of events such as raising awareness about road safety. The mission of the Road Safety Club is to raise awareness among students and all road users in order to change their behaviour on the roads.

Krishna Devi Girls Degree College, Alambagh, Lucknow provides a well-furnished library to students of the college. It is well maintained library and is able to fulfill the needs of students and faculty members in the college. A large number of students visit library on the daily basis.

Library has near about ten thousand books on various subject such as Sociology, Economics, Ancient History, Political Science, Education, English literature, Hindi literature, Sanskrit Literature and Physical Education. Apart from this, a large number of books are available on different inspiring personalities and motivational figures. Library remains open during college hours, on all the working days of the week.

K.D.G.D College library is under the process of digitalization. It will soon be a full-fledged digital library with fully computerized catalogues and soft copy of the books will be available. The digitalization of the library will make students access to library, an easy and enjoyable experience.

After digitalization of the library, student will be able to access the available books in the library 24/7. A number of Magazines like Pratiyogita Darpan, World Focus, Sarita, India Today, Kurushetra and newspapers like The Hindu. Daink Jagran, Hindustan has been subscribed for the library.
